PRIVATE SESSIONS

Private Reformer Pilates

1:1 or 1:2 50 min all levels welcome

Private Reformer Pilates is one of our teachers on the floor with just you, or with you and one other person. It's the same Reformer work that runs in our group classes in Lewisham - a moving carriage and a set of springs that resist when you push and support when you need help - except the room is yours, the pace is yours, and the teacher's attention is yours.

People book it for a lot of reasons. Coming back after an injury or surgery. Wanting to learn the machine before stepping into a group. Wanting focused technique work, with the teacher's attention all on you. Whatever the reason, you tell us what you'd like to get out of it, and we'll build the session around that.

A Reformer Pilates session at Innerform's Lewisham studio - member on the reformer, teacher coaching from the floor.

A whole class of teacher attention, for one or two people.

WHO BOOKS THIS

Who books this.

  • Coming back after an injury or surgery

If you're working back to where you were, or working around something that's still healing, you get one teacher's undivided attention from start to finish - the springs, the range and the load set to what your body wants today, with cues built around the way you're moving in the moment. Plenty of people do a handful of these before they feel ready to step into a group class, and plenty stay on them indefinitely; both are normal.

  • Wanting to learn the machine before joining a group

If a class with other people isn't where you want to start, a private session is a way in. We'll show you the machine without the clock running, take the time to make sense of the springs and the straps, and get you confident with the fundamentals at the pace that suits you. When you're ready for a group class our Foundation level is waiting; some people make the move quickly, some take longer, and there's no schedule on it.

  • Working on technique without sharing the cueing

If you've been doing Reformer Pilates a while and want a session that's all on you - a niggle you'd like to work out, a movement you'd like to clean up, a level you'd like to push into - a private gives the teacher the air to coach the small stuff in real time. Bring the bit you want to work on; we'll build the rest of the session around it.

HOW IT WORKS

How it works.

You enquire through the form, telling us a bit about what you're after - whether that's coming back from something, getting confident on the machine for the first time, or wanting focused work on a specific thing. We'll come back to you to talk it through, including what a session costs (pricing depends on whether it's a 1:1 or a 1:2, and how many sessions you'd like up front), and match you to a teacher whose background fits what you've described. Then you book a time that works for both of you, and you're in.

A session runs around 50 minutes. The teacher's attention is on you the whole time - no class to keep pace with, and no syllabus the room has to land before the session's up. If something feels off, we slow down. If something feels good, we stay there a beat longer. The session steers itself around what your body is doing on the day, and the work gets done either way.
